Sobre el maestro de cantería Juan de Ochoa y sus trabajos para el II señor de Villaseca, don Luis Gómez de Figueroa y Córdoba

Abstract

El presente trabajo aporta documentación sobre dos obras en cantería ejecutadas por Juan de Ochoa durante el último tercio del siglo XVI para el II señor de Villaseca, don Luis Gómez de Figueroa, lo cual compila por primera vez las relaciones profesionales y personales del cantero con este noble y mecenas del arte cordobés de la segunda mitad del quinientos. Estas obras son la portada principal de la casa solariega de los Villaseca (actual Palacio de Viana) y la capilla mayor del ex convento de Santa Isabel de los Ángeles, ambas situadas en el barrio de Santa Marina, en Córdoba.

This paper contributes documentation about two stone works executed by Juan de Ochoa during the last third of the 16th Century for the II señor de Villaseca, don Luis Gómez de Figueroa. This brings together for the first time the personal and professional relationships of the stonemason and this noble patron of the cordovan arts in the second half of the century. These works are the main cover of the family home and the presbytery of the former convent de Santa Isabel de los Ángeles, both located in the neighborhood of Santa Marina, in Córdoba.
