TIC en la enseñanza y auto-aprendizaje del idioma inglés en los estudios de educación superior

Abstract

El presente trabajo abordará el uso de las tecnologías de la información y comunicación (TICS) y su incidencia en el rendimiento académico en la enseñanza y auto-aprendizaje del idioma inglés en los estudiantes de educación superior, tomando en cuenta su alcance y limitaciones que se presentan en el contexto que se encuentre el estudiante dentro de las Instituciones de educación superior (IES) que se desarrollan en las universidades de las Zona 4 del Ecuador. Dentro de este enfoque, tres objetivos esenciales serán presentados y evaluados críticamente. En primer lugar, se diagnosticará el nivel de conocimiento del estudiante universitario sobre las TICS que faciliten la enseñanza y autoaprendizaje del idioma inglés. En segundo lugar, Evaluará el rendimiento académico con el uso de las TICS en la enseñanza y autoaprendizaje del idioma inglés de los estudiantes de educación superior. En tercer lugar, se detectará debilidades y fortalezas que se derivan del uso de TICS para fomentar la enseñanza y auto-aprendizaje del idioma inglés en la Educación Superior El conocimiento generado también servirá como un medio para comprender que utilizando correctamente las TICS en la enseñanza en las IES se puede promover al auto- aprendizaje del idioma inglés.

This paper focuses on the information and communication technologies (ITCs) and its impact on academic performance in the teaching and self-learning of the English language in higher education students, taking into account its scope and limitations presented in the context that the student is within the Institutions of Higher Education (IES) that are developed in the universities of Zone 4 of Ecuador. Within this approach, three essential objectives will be presented and critically evaluated. Firstly, a diagnosis will be made of the level of knowledge of university students about ICTs that facilitate the teaching and self-learning of the English language. Secondly, it will assess academic performance with the use of ICTs in the teaching and self-learning of the English language. Secondly, it will assess academic performance with the use of ICTs in the teaching and self-learning of English by students in higher education. Thirdly, it will identify weaknesses and strengths arising from the use of ICTs to promote the teaching and self-learning of English in Higher Education. The knowledge generated will also serve as a means of understanding that the correct use of ICTs in teaching at HEIs can promote self-learning of the English language.
