Eloisa to Abelard de Alexander Pope

Abstract

Trabajo que se ocupa del poema de Alexander Pope consagrado a los dos famosos amantes de principios del siglo XIII; tras llevar a cabo una breve revisión de la correspondencia de Abelardo y Eloísa, se analiza estilísticamente la epístola del poeta inglés, poniendo de relieve las similitudes entre el estado anímico de los personajes y el del escritor en el momento de la redacción de su obra.

In this article I discuss the A. Pope poem devoted to the famous lovers of the beginning of the 13th century. After a brief review of Abelard and Eloise's correspondence, I analyse the epistle by the English poet from a stylistic point of view and lay the emphasis on the similarities existing between the psychological state of the characters and that of the author at the moment of writing his work.
