La intertextualidad (1967-2007). El largo periplo de un término teórico

Abstract

«Intertextualidad» es un término difundidísimo en Teoría Literaria que nace en 1967, acuñado por Julia Kristeva, que se ha utilizado desde entonces con diversos significados y que hoy sigue gozando de gran vigencia. El artículo intenta arrojar luz sobre la cuestión ordenando las acepciones otorgadas a la voz «intertextual» en los distintos autores o escuelas: dimensión marxista (la propia Kristeva y Bajtin), dimensión formal (Genette, Plett, Martínez Fernández o Segre), el uso cibernético de «hipertexto» en Nelson, etcétera. Aportamos profusos ejemplos, reflexiones sobre el papel que puede cumplir este fenómeno, sobre su consideración en diferentes épocas y sobre sus límites con el plagio.

«Intertextuality», a very widespread term in Literary Theory, was coined in 1967 by Julia Kristeva. Since then, it has been used with various meanings and, still today, it is in common use. This article is an attempt to clarify the issue organizing the different meanings of the term «intertextuality» as it has been used by different authors or schools: the Marxist dimension (Kristeva herself and Bajtin), the formal dimension (Genette, Plett, Martínez Fernández or Segre), the cybemetic use of «hypertext» by Nelson, etc. Abundant examples are presented on its consideration at different moments and on its limits with plagiarism.
