In the middle of the XVIth century, in the former kingdom of Granada, they used to resort to conocedores or apeadores in charge of describing and delimiting the lands which expelled Morisques had deserted, before redistributing them to Christian settlers. This article aims at precising the identity and characteristics of these conocedores whose testimony ensured the transmission of traditions (irrigation, toponymy...). The author depicts in three mountainous areas the part played by those conocedores and shows how they were chosen and whether they were « Morisques » or Old Christianses_ES
