La endocría en la estirpe Cartujana del caballo de Pura Raza Española

Abstract

Using the genealogical data offered by the Stud-Book, we have used two probabilistic methods based on the basic concepts of the Genetics of Populations: The coefficient of inbreeding and the effective size of the population, in order to characterise the Carthusian Strain (2676 horses). In the Carthusian Strain, where mating have seen in great measure directed by the breeders as it is shown by the notable difference, between the Mean F of Wright and the calculated from the effective number of reproducers, where random mating it is presupposed. In concordance with the marked relationship between the percentage of Carthusian genes and the level of inbreeding (r = 0.26), we found a high mean percentage of F for the Carthusian population with a 11.70 percent.

Para caracterizar la población de caballos pertenecientes a la estirpe Cartujana del Pura Raza Española (2676 individuos), en función de los datos genealógicos del P.R.E., hemos utilizado dos métodos probabilísticos derivados de los conceptos básicos de la genética de poblaciones: El coeficiente de consanguinidad y el tamaño efectivo de la población. Nuestros resultados muestran que, en la estirpe Cartujana, los cruces han sido en gran medida dirigidos por parte de los criadores, al existir una notable diferencia entre la F media de Wright y la calculada a partir del número efectivo de reproductores, donde se presupone que los apareamientos son totalmente aleatorios. Por último y en consonancia con la marcada relación entre el porcentaje de genes Cartujanos y el nivel de endogamia (r = 0,26), se encuentra el elevado porcentaje medio de F para la población Cartujana (F = 11,70 p.100).
