Phénomènes énonciatifs et localisations spatio-temporelles dans Du Côté de chez Swann

Abstract

El discurso autobiográfico distingue dos planos enunciativos: el del yo narrador y el del yo personaje. Presentamos aquí el funcionamiento referencial y enunciativo de las localizaciones espaciotemporales en la narración proustiana. En el plano del narrador, los deícticos reenvían a su presente organizando el relato y la narración. En el plano del personaje, dan acceso a su conciencia en discursos referidos y en pensamientos no-verbalizados. Las referencias deícticas aparecen también en el relato en frases con un sujeto de tercera persona creando una empatía con este. Existe además un uso narrativo de los deícticos, en particular de mantienen.

The autobiographical discourse distinguishes two enunciative levels: the self of the narrator and the self of the character. This paper analyses the referential and enunciative spatio-temporal deictics in Proust’s fiction. At the narratorial level, deictics refer to the narrator’s present time and they organize both the story and the narration. From the character’s enunciative level, they grant access to his conscience by means of reported speech and nonverbalized thoughts. Deictical references also appear in the story in sentences with a third person subject creating an empathy with it. Furthermore there is a narrative use of deictics, particularly of maintenant.
