Traduction et créativité dans la bande dessinée En route pour le Goncourt de J.-F. Kierzkowski et M. Ephrem

Abstract

El cómic plantea una serie de retos al traductor debido a los distintos códigos que lo articulan. El traductor deberá identificar y respetar el sentido tanto en los niveles semántico, pragmático, icónico, fónico y tipográfico del texto original. Para ello, deberá utilizar los conocimientos biculturales, complementos cognitivos y hacer alarde de creatividad para producir en el lector del texto meta el mismo efecto humorístico que despertó en el lector de la cultura origen. Basado en un taller de traducción creativa de cómic que ejemplifica los conceptos teóricos, pretendemos demostrar la importancia de una formación bicultural del traductor para abordar la traducción creativa de este complejo medio de expresión artística.

Comic raises a whole series of challenges to the translator due to the different codes that articulate it. The translator will have to identify and respect the meaning of the semantic, pragmatic, iconic, phonic and typographic dimensions of the source text. To this end, they will have to use bicultural knowledge cognitive complements and show creativity to convey in the target text reader the same humorous impact as it did in the source text reader. This paper is based in a case-study approach so that the theoretical concepts are exemplified from a creative translation worshop. The aim is to show the importance of a bicultural formation for the translator which will facilitate the creative translation of this highly complex medium.
