Impactos del cambio climático en el destino turístico cubano de Gibara-Guardalavaca (Cuba)

Abstract

El turismo influye en buena medida en la emisión de gases de efecto invernadero, principal causante del cambio climático. De igual forma, es impactado por los efectos negativos derivados del mismo. Gíbara-Guardalavaca (Cuba) es un destino turístico cubano que se encuentra en una etapa de crecimiento, por lo que resulta necesario investigar cuáles serán los principales impactos producto del cambio climático en la zona, lo que figura como objetivo fundamental de este trabajo. Se emplearon métodos y técnicas de la investigación científica, resaltando la revisión bibliográfica, el análisis y síntesis histórico-lógica y las entrevistas a especialistas del Ministerio de Turismo en Cuba, el Instituto de Meteorología y la Facultad de Turismo de la Universidad de la Habana. Como principal resultado se obtuvieron predicciones acerca de cambios en las variables climatológicas en diferentes escenarios de vías de concentraciones representativas (RCP) y los efectos que tendrán estos cambios sobre la actividad turística en el territorio. Se ha llegado a la conclusión principal de que los cambios no resultarán dramáticos. No obstante, se requiere la adopción por parte de los principales responsables del desarrollo local en el área de una serie de medidas de adaptación y mitigación, las cuales serán diseñadas en futuras investigaciones atendiendo a las particularidades de Gíbara-Guardalavaca.

Tourism largely influences the emission of greenhouse gases, the main cause of climate change, in the same way, it is impacted by the negative effects derived from it. Gíbara-Guardalavaca is a Cuban tourist destination that is in a growth stage, it is necessary to investigate what the main impacts of climate change will be in the area, which was the fundamental objective of this work. Scientific research methods and techniques were used, highlighting the bibliographic review, analysis and synthesis, historical-logical, interviews with specialists from the Ministry of Tourism in Cuba. the Institute of Meteorology and the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Havana. As the main result, predictions were obtained about changes in the climatological variables in different RCP and the effects that these changes will have on tourist activity in the territory. Arriving at the main conclusion that the changes will not be dramatic, however, it is required the adoption by the main responsible for local development in the area of a series of adaptation and mitigation measures, which will be designed in future research. attending to the particularities of Gíbara-Guardalavaca.
