El tratamiento de los antropónimos y topónimos en las dos traducciones al español de Tawq al-Hamama de Ibn Hazm

Abstract

En el presente trabajo nos vamos a centrar, desde una perspectiva traductológica, en el análisis de los antropónimos y topónimos utilizados en las dos traducciones al español de Tawq al-Ḥamāmade Ibn Ḥazmal-andalusí, debido a su frecuencia de aparición como marcadores culturales de este importante texto de la literatura árabe clásica. El tratamiento de los antropónimos y topónimos supone uno de los aspectos más problemáticos en los que se producen errores con más frecuencia, por lo que se le ofrece al traductor un abanico de opciones de estrategias para su trasvase a la lengua meta. El fin del presente trabajo es comprobar cuáles son las estrategias de traducción más habituales en las dos versiones de la obra de Ibn Ḥazm. Procuramos identificar los casos que nos permitan analizar las dos versiones meta, observar cómo los traductores han resuelto los problemas traductológicos a los que se han enfrentado y comprobar en qué casos hay similitudes y/o divergencias respecto de estas estrategias, y hasta qué medida aportan mayor o menor domesticación y naturalización a los antropónimos y topónimos de la obra en la lengua meta.

In this paper we will focus, from a translatological perspective, on the analysis of the anthroponyms and toponyms used in Tawq al-Ḥamāmaof Ibn Ḥazm, due to its frequency of appearance as cultural markers of this important text of classical Arabic literature. The treatment of anthroponyms and toponyms is one of the most problematic aspects in which errors occur most frequently. Therefore, the translator is offered a range of strategic options for their transfer to the target language. The aim of this paper is to check the most common translation strategies in the two versions of the book by Ibn Ḥazm. We also try to identify the cases that allow us to analyze the two target versions, in order to observe how the translators have solved the translation problems that they have faced. This will help us verify the cases in which there are similarities and/or divergences with respect to these strategies, and the extent to which they bring greater or lesser domestication and naturalization to the anthroponyms and toponyms of the whole work in the target language.
