Abstract

Los prerrafaelistas formaron un movimiento estético y literario inglés de mediados del siglo XIX, en el que convergieron en las mismas personas intereses artísticos de distinto carácter: pintores y artistas plásticos en sus inicios, cultivaron la poesía como parte esencial de la expresión estética de sus ideas y convicciones. En este estudio monográfico se traducen poemas o fragmentos de poemas de autores destacados que formaron parte de este grupo: Dante G. Rossetti, Christina Rossetti, William Morris y A. Charles Swinburne son los autores, que por su importancia, hemos abordado y traducido al español en este 'dossier'.

The Pre-Raphaelites was a mid-10 century aesthetic literary movement where the same components shared a vide range of artistic interests: initially painters and plastic artists, they cultivated poetry as an essential parí of their aesthetic expression of their ideas and persuations. In the present monographic work a translation is offered of study severa! poems or fragments of poems belonging to prominent authors of that group. The authors approached and translated in this study are: Dante G. Rossetti, Christina Rossetti, William Morris and A. Charles Swinburne, who in our opinion are best representativa writers of the Pre-Raphaelite aesthetic.
