¿El primer núcleo de la correspondencia de Pietro Bembo? Nuevas investigaciones sobre el manuscrito de la Biblioteca Apostólica Vaticana, Boncompagni E 1

Abstract

El manuscrito Boncompagni E 1 de la Biblioteca Apostólica Vaticana se suele considerar el primer núcleo de la correspondencia de Pietro Bembo. Sin embargo, las pesquisas en curso sobre los complejos acontecimientos relacionados con las redacciones de esta obra bembiana, mediante el uso de las más modernas técnicas de investigación de la filología de autor y la epistolografía, demuestran que el manuscrito Boncompagni E 1 fue en su origen una colección antológica creada para uso privado por un discípulo de Bembo (quizás Vittore Soranzo). El autor veneciano tomó posesión del códice solo en un momento posterior y lo utilizó para aumentar el número de cartas que tenía in-tención de publicar en forma impresa.

This paper aims to inform the reader about the researches currently underway on the tradition of Pietro Bembo’s epistolary by examining the specific case of the manuscript Boncompagni E 1 of the Vatican Library. The codex is commonly considered by scholars to be the earliest nucleus of the Bembo epistolary. But through the use of the most up-to-date techniques of investigation in epistolography and authorial philology, the essay demonstrates that the manuscript Boncompagni E 1 was originally an anthology collection prepared for private use by a Bembo’s disciple (possibly Vittore Soranzo). Our author got hold of the manuscript only later and he used it to increase his collection of letters that he wanted to publish in print.
