Rilke en Álvaro Cunqueiro

Abstract

Más conocido en el ámbito hispanohablante como prosista que como poeta —debido, tal vez, a que el género lírico fue más cultivado por él en lengua gallega—, Álvaro Cunqueiro es un escritor singular, cuya literatura tiene un carácter universalista, transido de múltiples referencias literarias, entre las que el nombre de Rilke, implícita o explícitamente, ocupa un lugar destacado y aparece prácticamente, en todos los géneros por él cultivados, especialmente en la poesía y en el artículo periodístico. Este trabajo mostrará el alcance de esa presencia rilkiana y las traducciones que el autor gallego llevó a cabo del praguense.

Better known in the Spanish-speaking world as a prose writer than as a poet —perhaps due to the fact that the lyric genre was morecultivated by him in Galician—,Álvaro Cunqueiro is a singular writer, whose literature has a universalist character. His works arefull of multiple literary references, among which the name of Rilke, implicitly or explicitly, occupies a prominent place. Rilkeappears in practically all the genres cultivated by him, especially in poetry and journalistic articles. This work will show the extent of this Rilkean presence and the translations that the Galician author made of the Prague writer.
