The name or designation of a place is often a clear indication of the traces left by a civilization in a region. But sometimes, it is the community itself that feels the duty to pay tribute to individuals or events that may be linked to the place due to their significance, achievements, or any other reason deserving recognition. This study aims to rescue from the street names of the city of Seville those references that bear a connection to Germany, through which the prominent role that certain individuals or entities may have had for the city can be presumed. Methodologically, the main source will be the digitized database of the Seville City Council, as well as the municipal regulations that govern street signage. The study will approach the subject from the perspective of toponymy, a discipline that focuses on the analysis of proper names of places, whether they are names of cities, towns, mountains, rivers, lakes, or other geographical elements. These linguistic fossils will provide clues through which aspects of culture, history, and traditions can be recognized, which at certain moments in history were the genesis of Spanish-German relations.
