"Heldenwörter" en la épica heroica en alto alemán medio: propuestas de traducción en el contexto de la "Rabenschlacht"

Abstract

este trabajo está dedicado al estudio de una porción del léxico épico tradicional empleado con frecuencia en el conjunto de obras pertenecientes al género de la épica heroica en alto alemán medio o mittelhochdeutsche Heldendichtung. En concreto,los términos quese analizarán son losllamadosHeldenwörter(helt, degen, reckey wîgant), empleados en los poemas épico-heroicos para aludir al guerrero y dar cuenta de sus virtudes y cualidades. Para tal propósito se ofrecerá, primero,una visión global del género de manera que pueda señalarse la relevancia de este léxico en general y de estos términos en particular. Igualmente, se referirán las principales singularidades del texto que servirá de marco para analizar contextualmente estos términos: la Rabenschlacht, una epopeya compuesta en el siglo XIII. La última parte de este trabajo se destinará a evaluar los términos desde una perspectiva traductológica y se ofrecerá una propuesta de traducción para cada uno de ellos.

This paper is devoted to the study of a portion of the traditional epic lexicon frequently used in the set of works belonging to the genre of the Middle High German heroic epic or mittelhochdeutsche Heldenepik. Specifically, the terms to be analysed are the so-called Heldenwörter(helt, degen, reckeand wîgant), which are used n the epic-heroic poems to refer to the warrior and to describe his virtues and qualities. For this purpose, first of all, an overview of the genre will be given so that the relevance of this lexicon in general and of these terms in particular can be pointed out. It will also give an account of the main singularities of the text that will serve as a framework for the contextual analysis of these terms: the Rabenschlacht, an epic composed in the 13th century. The last part of this work will be devoted to evaluate the terms from a translatological perspective and a translation proposal will be offered for eachof them.
