Parámetros cefálicos radiográficos de la oveja merina segureña y su aplicación racial

Abstract

Thirty-four ewes (2-3 years old) of the Merina and Segureña breeds, have been used. Lateral and ventrodorsal radiographies have been realized, obtaining data corresponding to eight parameters such as the craniumfacial angle and the incisive palatine length. The analysis of the data has shown homogeneous groups corresponding with breed. Also we obtained some data of" the craniumfacial dimensions, as well as the craniumfacial angle, of which the latter resulted in 42°- + 2.44°- for the Merina breed and 44.732 + 1,992 for the Segureña breed. We can see statistical differences between Segureña and Merina ewes by the analysis of the cranial length and the craniumfacial angle. Finally, we show by discriminating funtion that eight ewes aren"t discriminated. In both breeds the results are homogeneous (table 1). Look at the C.V.100. By variance analysis we show that cranial variables V1, V5 are statistically significant. Also the craniumfacial angle V4 . The discriminating analysis shows that five of the thirty-four ewes of the Merina and Segureña breeds are not discriminted (see fig. 5-A) We represent graphically (see fig. 6) the "centered data analysis of all the ewes and the cluster (fig. 7 ) with the variables used.

Se utilizan treinta y cuatro ovejas adultas (2-3 años) pertenecientes a las razas merina y segureña, a las cuales se les realizan radiografías laterales y otras ventrodorsales (haciendo paralelos los planos mediano y basicraneal y la placa, respectivamente). Con este material se determinan y obtienen datos correspondientes a ocho variables que dimensionan la longitud, altura y anchura cefálicas y craneanas, el ángulo ceofacial, la longitud incisivo-palatina. Por los datos obtenidos sobre el material radiográfico preparado al efecto, se demuestra la existencia de colectivos homogéneos coincidentes con el grupo "racial. Se obtienen, además, los datos numéricos de las principales dimensiones craneofaciales, así como el ángulo craneofacial, el cual (en 2) resulta ser de 42.00 + 2.44, en la raza merina; y 44.73 + 1.99, en la segureña. La longitud craneal y el ángulo craneofacial diferencian estadísticamente a la raza segureña y a las ovejas merinas. El análisis de varianza es estadísticamente significativo entre las variables craneanas y entre todas las variables (incluido el ángulo craneofacial V4), pero no lo es en las variables faciales.
