La actividad proteolítica sobre la caseina como prueba complementaria rápida en la identificación de estafilococos

Abstract

For the study the 150 staphylococcal strains —of human and animal origin¬it has been carried out the tests of mannitol (aerobic and anaerobic), DN-ase, coagulase,hemolysis and proteolytic activity on casein and gelatin. Throughout the work it has been seen that there is a significative difference between the proteolytic capacity of the DN-ase positive and DN-ase negative staphylococci. So, this evidence can be an early and interesting complementary test for the staphylococcal identification.

Para el estudio e identificación de 150 cepas de estafilococos —de origen humano y animal— sé han realizado las pruebas de la manita (aerobia y anaerobia), DN-asa, coagulasa, heolisis y de actividad proteásica sobre la caseína y gelatina. A lo largo del estudio se ha evidenciado que la manifestación de la actividad proteolítica sobre la caseína puede representar una prueba complementaria, rápida e interesante, en la identificación de estafilococos, toda vez que, como se ha podido demostrar, existen diferencias significativas y fácilmente ostensibles entre la presen¬tada por los DN-asa positivos y los DN-asa negativos.
