This paper analyses the value of the old age and its iconographic expression at the end of medieval times, mentioning some kings of the Iberian Peninsula and popes that died in their old age. Medieval monasteries and hospitals offered ger-iatric care, as evidenced in Cordoba during the 15th century. Notarial protocols provide relevant information about daily life and inter-generational solidarity among family, friends and neighbours.
