Nitrofurazolidone (N. F. Z.) at 2 g/l for drinking water in addition to 20 g/Kg in starter feed associated with intrarnuscúlar dosification of vitamin A at 30 or 100 U. I./kg live weight proved to be effective in prevention of coccidiosis of 10-100 days old lambs raised indoors on rather humid litter. Variation in oocyst excretion observed was very large, between nil and 412 x 10s oocysts per g of feces. The criteria used for testing effectivenness of treatment were both growth rate depression and/or excretion of oocysts or diarrhoea intensity. In test groups of lambs average depression of growth rate was estimated to be 84-92 per 100 of treated lambs 70-100 days old. A regression equation was calculated between oocyst excretion and growth rate the whole experimental groups: y 187.6 = 0,474x. It is suggested that counts of 1.000-1.500 oocyst per g of feces and kg of live weight could be considered as normal levels in lambs for developping immunity processes in adult sheep.
