Virtual Reality is one of the emerging technological tools and its tendency is increasing in relation to its application in the educational field. This paper takes part of a wider investigation on the application of the mobile learning methodology in the Spanish University. Specifically in this work is collected the scientific literature on Virtual Reality applied through mobile digital devices in Spain between years 2000 and the end of 2017. It has followed a methodology of bibliographic research that has consisted in the establishment of a series of keywords and criteria for carrying out the systematic search of documentation
in scientific databases. Among the results obtained, it shows that the growing interest has been determined since 2015, with most of the documents published being journal articles. Therefore, the boom in the implementation of the Virtual Reality in different levels and educational areas is verified thanks to the universalization of the Smartphone and the reduction of the Virtual Reality viewers.
