Currently there has been an increasing interest from scientific studies, with the aim of analyzing events that take place in the world and specifically, in festivals. However, these researches analyze the impacts that they caused both in the locality that welcomes them and in the spectators who come from the point of view of the organizers. However, the competition to attract the public is increasing due to the appearance of a large number of festivals in recent years. Therefore, to better know the viewer to improve the offer of the event and adapt it to the public that generates the greatest economic impact both in the Festival and in the locality is becoming increasingly necessary and fundamental. Accordingly, taking into account the importance of the segmentation of the public attending festivals as a valuable marketing tool for the promotion and understanding of the characteristics of the segments based on their motivations, this Doctoral Thesis has made a segmentation of the tourist that comes to a cultural event such as the Almagro International Festival of Classical Theatre, located in Almagro (Ciudad Real). The statistical analysis of the data has been carried out using the SPSS programme v. 23. After a factorial analysis and taking as a reference the extracted motivational dimensions, the multivariate technique of grouping cases has been used, obtaining three clusters. The findings reveal the socio-demographic profile of the viewer, their motivations and the perceived value of the attributes of the Festival among others. Regarding the reasons that attract the spectators, besides the cultural reasons, the psychosocial ones are highlighted.
