La evolución en la escritura de Monika Maron: de la contaminación medioambiental a la polución política

Abstract

Due to the dramatic historic and social changes that have occurred in Germany during Monika Maron’s lifetime, the author has become a unique and privileged witness of this country’s recent past. For more than forty years, she has given testimony of her experiences through her writing. In this way both her essays and fictional works have become a living part this significant period. The main goal of this essay is to analyze the development of Maron’s critical position between herself and her environment during this transformative time. Through her novels and with particular emphasis on her journalistic works we will discover how the autobiographical nature of much of her canon serves to deconstruct the barrier between reality and fiction and thus allow her texts to offer more of a documentary perspective of this dynamic age

Debido a los profundos cambios históricos acaecidos en la época en la que se encuentra inmersa, Monika Maron se convierte en un testigo pre(-esencial) del pasado más reciente de Alemania, del que durante cuatro décadas va dejando constancia a través de su escritura. Analizar la evolución de la postura crítica de esta escritora con su entorno durante ese período de tiempo a través de su legado en la prensa, en conjunción con su obra de ficción, constituye el objetivo principal de este trabajo. Con ello pretende mostrarse el valor documental que adquiere su obra literaria a partir del análisis de textos autobiográficos que desvirtúan las fronteras establecidas tradicionalmente entre realidad y ficción
