The current workfocuses on theGerman-Spanish / Spanish-Germantranslation of wine labelling and other wine sector products. To this end, we first analyze the definition of labelling according toEuropean law. Later on, we carry out a detailed review ofboth sectoral and horizontal regulations at national and European level, whether mandatory or optional. In this way, we may establish whatare the legal requirements that thelabelling of wine and other wine sector productsmust meet, and how they affect its translation. Finally, we analyze the labelling of two wine bottles—one in German and the other one in Spanish—. In this analysis, the different elements present in the labelling areanalyzed, as well as how these should be translated in compliance with current regulations.
